charging system
anyone have a good wiring diagram ? 1982 f 150 inline six , no a/c . need to redo previous owners monkey business all around tha alternator , regulator and relay . got the hanes manual . not sure how accurate it is . thinking of getting Helm's manuals .

If your truck has guages in the dash, the diagram below is the one you need.

The clusters with two gauges + 2 idiot lights have just that.
Those with the gauges Dave is referring to have 4 gauges - fuel level, water temp, amps, oil pressure - and no idiot lights.

there are idiot lights along the top of the dash . horizontal rectangles . directionals too .

If you have a ammeter, use the diagram above. I have another one if you do not have a ammeter(the one that has "D" and "C" in it).

The lamps at the top of the cluster are your various indicators - high beams, turn signals, etc. - and are not traditionally known as idiot lights.

Yup . I do have an ammeter . right side of the cluster . Thank you for the info .
