traction control

2014 f250 6.2........today on my way home from work I noticed my traction control symbol was on. It didn`t say off under it like it does when you turn it off. About five miles down the road it was gone. What might of caused this? Any ideas?

Another thing I`ve been wondering is whats up with the carpeted inner fender wells. How long has ford been doing that and how well do they hold up?

Thanks in advance....

I'd say if the TC symbol was on there might be an electrical glitch in the system. As for the fabric wheel well liner I'm not sure when Ford started using them. I was told Ford switched to them to help reduce noise and they do seem to hold up pretty well, but I still prefer the plastic ones.

I've had the traction control kick on a few times in the summer while going slowly thru parking lots. Not sure why. Just turned it off and then back on and it was fine. Has been over a year I think since it last happened. This is on a 2011 F350 6.2l. Just computer gremlins I guess....

My 11 has the felt liners. Im not a big fan, not such a good idea IMO. Not sure on its longevity. It holds the water longer which can lead to odors. Then wait till you run over some road pizza, worms, frogs and what ever other critter carcasses you may squash. It definitely holds on to that stink! My girls 10 Altima has them as well in the rear wells. When it sits in the garage wet I can smell it. Hell why not felt in the wheel wells after all they've been putting sponge foam in the rear wells since... forever...same Einstein engineer likely. Ill take the noise verses the stink and rot.

Haven`t noticed an oder from the inner fender wells yet. As far as the tc symbol, it didn`t say off under it like it does when you turn it off. Pushed the button and no change. 5 mile or so down the road I noticed it off. I pushed the tc button and it came on (with the word off under it) pushed again and it went off like it was suppose to. 6000 miles on the truck, hope it was nothig to worry about. Not going to take it in unless it happens again.

Might be a good idea to take it in anyway so they can scan it. Then it will at least be on record for the future. (Until the warranty is up that is)
