correct paint color for bench seat frame

The seat tracks were all cadmium plated. They call it "clear cad", because it is just the basic finish, without the additional chromate process that turns it yellow.
All of the tubing was dipped in a grayish colored semi-gloss primer/paint. Ford dipped lots of parts in this, like the radiator support, hood hinges, hood supports, etc., most of the time. I even have a pair of NOS fenders that were dipped in this stuff. Very unusual, as it's the only pair I ever had that weren't sprayed in brown primer. I say the seat parts were done this way most of the time, because I have found 48-50's with the seat parts painted brown, hood hinges body color, and radiator support black. By 1952, I'm pretty confident they were all gray.
