Recently hooked up a CTS Edge Monitor for gauge purposes, checked today and it's showing two DTC's.
P1249 Wastegate Control Valve Performance and P1211 Injector Control Pressure Higher/Lower than Desired.
Does not seem to be any other performance problems, fuel economy is normal no other problems. If I did not have these gauges I would think nothing of the engine's performance.
They're likely related, my buddy had same codes with excursion. Was due to overboost under "extreme" acceleration. Was worse with high tune, too much fuel for stock injectors to keep up. Should be able to clear and forget about it, will only re-occur under normal driving conditions if there is a problem, waste gate, vacuum leak, et...
Yep, the 1211 is a very common code to see on a chipped truck with stock injectors & stock HPOP. The HPOP can't keep up with the demand from the program. The 1249 can be from an overboost condition like RushN350 posted. Do you have a chip installed? If so, have you installed a boost fooler?
The boost fooler will prevent the PCM from seeing the overboost condition and prevent the PCM from defueling the engine.
I know this is an OLD thread but just wanted to jump in to say that I've been getting these codes (P1249/P1211) intermittently on my 2002 7.3L (usually when driving longer distances "at speed" - 70-85mph) using a Superchips program.
I just use the Superchips controller to read/deete the codes. The codes don't always come back and only do when I am driving it "at speed." Haven't bothered to remove the program to see if the codes go away entirely because w/o the program the truck is WAY TOO SLOW.
So, unless codes come on and DON'T go away, I'm not going to do nutt'n about it.
