obd 2 tester

I have a 01 escape that has a check eng lite on & a mess but when I put my obd2 scanner on it the obd test port will not power up the scanner which by the way is working perfect ( worked on another ford) so does anybody have any idea how I can pull the codes or something anything would be helpful

Go check your cigar lighter fuse.

Autozone, OReilly's or another local store can do it if for some reason it won't work on your vehicle.

If pin 16 of the DLC isn't powered, none of the vehicle-powered scanners will work (no power).
