I just replaced my front pads due to wear / dragging. When I had them off, I lubed everything up nicely (especially the pins holding the calipers on, since one was very tacky.) But, I noticed that there was no clip or anything on the pads to keep them retracted and aligned. There were some side clips in the package I got from NAPA, but no overall clip like I am used to, and I am still getting some sticking as well I can hear the pads sliding counter- and pro- rotation in the calipers. The pads coming off had no clips of any kind.
Can anyone give me any kinds of pictures etc of what SHOULD be there and how it should be installed, so I can get whatever clips I need and install these correctly?
Thanks.
TL;DR: Brake pads were previously installed without clips etc, and I don't know what goes where as far as clips go. Replaced the pads but need some pictures/advice on what/where to add clips.
I just did the front brakes on my truck, it's an '07. The only hardware that came with the brake pads are the metal clips that go on each end of the brake pad, there isn't anything else used to install them. Here's a picture like mine that I used.
