For two years my son has wanted an Efie and as luck would have it one shows up in the neighborhood! (Happiest 13 year old in town). This will be a daily driver and it will have to last, so we are planning on upgrading brakes, suspension, engine and transmission. I have found a 72 Mustang with a 351C, c6 and 9" rear end. I am pretty sure this will all work with some modification but would like to hear your opinions? I am hoping that we may be able to use other parts as well - gas tank, power steering, disk brakes, ac? Has anyone done this? Any help would be appreciated.
Personally, I would look out for a Windsor block either 289, 302 or 351. Parts are cheaper and more readily available. Might want to look for a C4 also as this would be lighter and a more likely combo if you were getting both motor and trans from same donor. Check the width on the 9". 57-72 trucks all have the one that's the proper width and practically a bolt in deal. Mustang II front ends are popular, don't know about the regular mustang clip. I don't see why you couldn't graft the whole front end on if you have the abilities.

I had a 351C in my first truck a 53' f100. IT came out of a 72 Torino. I had an AOD behind mine for gas mileage. Your combo is good though. The rear end will fit maybe a little wide. IF you are running a striaght axle a 57-72 truck rear end will fit and it is a nine inch. The front clip will not work I believe. Correct me if I am wrong but doesn't that Mustang have strut towers. I would take a lot of Fabrication to get that grafted to your truck. Volare or a Clip or even a MII kit would be better. I favor the clips or Volares personally. I think a Mustang and Maverick have similiar style tanks and if so you can use the tank mounted between the frame rails and let filler neck come out in the lower sill below the tailgate. Hope this helps
Yep, that trio will work just fine in your truck. May require some modification/fabrication here and there, but nothing that requires a PhD in Engineering. My only word of caution is handing the keys to a 351C over to a first-time driver. Whoa-horsey!!!!
