Friday get back to the yard and I'm removing my stuff from my big rig and putting it in my F350 and I realize she is covered in oil !!! I had it idling looked under oil is just running off the passenger side of the oilpan from .... You guessed it the dipstick adapter !!!! I I messed with some RTV and tighten the nut but it leaked oil for 37 miles home what a mess . I know guzzle makes a kit to fix this and IH has one to but I need her up and running by Monday AM so I call my favorite Ford shop looking for an O ring and nut . I got the last O-ring in the state and had to go to IH for the nut. Man was that O ring swelled up.
Got it back together that new nut was tight going on RTV it and let it cure for 24 hrs so far so good.Im going to order guzzles kit and put in the glove box I may never need it but one of my other 7.3 ers may . Thanks to everyone who contributed to the threads on this subject they were a great help.
Hope it works for you! Had to do mine twice, o-ring slipped first time & leaked within a few days. I'd love to kick the geniuses that designed & approved that PITA....
