Just bought my son a 1964 F100, 2wd lb, 292 y block, 4sp.
he wants to upgrade the 2bbl carb to a 4 bbl. IS this an easy swap, I haven't been able to find any new intake manifolds for the 292, or many 4bbl for that matter...Appreciate the help.
Welcome to the forum plenty of help here with whatever you need. Stick around stay awhile post some pics of your sons 64 we like to see pics here. Look at this some different options but the hardest part of the swap is probably finding whatever intake you decide to go with. Y-block intake manifold question | The H.A.M.B.
John Mummert has an aluminum 4bbl intake and an aluminum valley cover that he sells. Just Google John Mummert and his site will come up. Also Blue Thunder makes an aluminum 4 bbl intake for the Y block. Again Google Blue Thunder and their site will come up. I got mine from Blue Thunder. I went with a 650 cfm Holley 4 bbl and a 3/4 spacer under it for heat disapation. Mine runs real good but I also put in 60 over high comp pistons and a bigger cam and had the entire rotating assembly balanced. Also have headers on it.
Not sure yet, how involved we are getting in the engine. This is his first vehicle, and will not be 15 until end of October. I do not want to much power available under the "Left Foot".
