Don't know if this has been talked about before but I just did something that made the Fan screw back on as my Dad would say
Slicker than Snot.
I had a Shoestring that was about 4 1/2 foot long.
Well I wrapped it around the spindle so when I pulled it, it would turn it to the Left(ccw).
I left about 3" of the end out and put a piece of tape to hold it.
Held the fan up where it went & very slowly pulled the string.
When I felt it catch I pulled it faster.
It tighten right up and took less than 10 mins from winding to getting it on.
Well that is a clever way to start the nut tightening by rotational impact. The more important aspect is that the normal rotation tightens the nut more.
