Need ND Help with Drums
When I pressed in the studs, 3 of them were rounded out and would not grip. I epoxied them in put the drum on and the dragging sound is still there. The problem is in the hub. Now at least the brakes always pull to the left instead of to the right.
Bill, I found the post below from last year and it indicates the 67 front drum is the replacement for the pressed in style hubs. Can you confirm that if I order a 67 drum/hub, I can press the bearings out of the old hub and it to the new one and life will be good again. Looked at the on-line picture (which mean nothing) and the 67 drums do not show an integral hub.
1966: Ford obsoleted both parts, replaced them with a one piece hub & drum assembly: C6TZ-1102-B which was also used in 1967 F100 2WD's.
Autoparts stores sold the drum by itself. Studs pressed into hub, drum is then pressed onto studs that should NOT be used over again, as once the drum is removed, the serrations on the studs flatten out.
1948/52 F1, 1953/67 F100's have 11" x 2" front brakes. 1968/72 F100's have 11" x 3" front brakes.
