AC Issue DFPS Location?
Compressor, accumulator, orifice tube, fan clutch replaced for AC no cool at idle. Dealer did this a year or two ago. Ever since that time, the AC will seemingly 'cut out' when I accelerate normally from a stop. Its most pronounced with 'outside' air.
Ive replaced the Low pressure cutout switch on the accumulator. The system was recently evacuated and refilled at a local shop to spec. Everything else is in order.
Im starting to suspect a switch like the DFPS because of this and the fact that it loses at LOT of cooling capacity while idling and I don't notice any additional fan noise.
Anyway, I can replaced teh DFPS without discharging the AC system, but where is it located? Pics?
I'm watching the FAN SPEED with my scangauge and when warmed up the fan speed is the same whether the AC is turned on or not. I thought it was supposed to increase when AC was called.
Perhaps mike or vloney will stop by.
Till then I can suggest that you may want to check the vacuum pump, vacuum leaks, heater control valve and make sure condenser and between condenser and radiator are free of debris.
If I had to guess you either losing vacuum or the compressor is suffering from elevated high pressures.
