I can't get the video to play no matter what I do, lol. YouTube is probably a better place for forum videos. You can embed them directly in a post from there.
So I had some time to look at it a little closer... Found no evidence of water in the oil or vice versa. Has a miss on one cylinder... Passenger-side front (forget what # that is) and smells like a raw fuel coming out the tailpipe. Will be pulling valve cover this weekend. Anyone know of a compression tester adapter to the glow plug?
Got a hold of a scanner and found that cyl contribution tests on cylinder 3 and 7 failed. Got pass vc off and ran compression tests on 3 and 7. 7 failed miserably. So to decide between a pre-done long block or rebuild this one. Anyone have any leads on a somewhat built long block available?
I think I'd want to know what the problem actually is before I made the decision to buy a long block. Them thar thangs ain't cheep!
Yeah I am finding that to be very true. I'll yank the motor and investigate further. I really wanna know what caused it to fail...I always maintained it well - kept a constant eye on EGT's. Is there something unique about cyl 7 or 8? Being at the rear of the block - do they get starved?
