HI, I have a quick question. Will running a 36x14.50 or a 37x14.50 cause any tire rub problems while turning or off-roading on a 2000-2004 f250, also it will have a 6" lift!
Guys, I would also appreciate your opinion on what tire size you think will look better on a superduty with a 6" lift. I appreciate all your help.
It depends greatly on what brand of tires and lift. I don't know of anyone that produces a 37/14.50. The more common size is 37/12.5. These typically will create less rubbing issues than a 36/14.50 due to their width. ProComp, M/T and Cepek produce 37/13.50s and Nitto & Toyo produce 37/14-18s. Some brand tires are considerably bigger than others of the same claimed size. Likewise, some 6" lifts will provide more true lift than others. You will definitely need to do some trimming of the air dam and you may need to shim your front bumper forward depending on the combination. Hope this helps
Thanks for the info. So let's say I go with the 36x12.50, will these look too SKINNY for the truck, or will I be better off going with the 14.50 (close to that) width for the tires?
I don't think 36/12.5s would look bad. However the only tires of that size that I am aware of are Swampers which run small. I would suggest going with a PJ 35/12.5 which is actually 35.4" tall which most companies would consider a 36. This tire would fill the wheelwells nicely but would not create rubbing issues. FWIW, I'm running 8.5" of lift on 37/14-18s. I hate tire rubbing!
Thanks a bunch for all the help guys! I decied I will install a 6" superlift system. I will be running either 15x10 or 16x10 Eagle Stone Crusher wheels. I'm also going to install a multiple shock kit from Pro-Comp! The only thing I have not decided on yet is the tire size. I do Know I want to run a tire with a 12.50 width. Just the Heighth I'm not sure about.
My goal is to fill the wheel wells nicely but I don't want any fender rubbing while turning or flexing my suspension!! I guess it's just one of those REALLY REALLY REALLY tough decisions.
Look in my users gallery, I run 37x12-1/2x17 on 17x10 Weld stone crushers with a 5/8 offset and have an 8 inch lift and dont rub. In Minnesota your tires can only stick out of your wheel wells so far otherwise you get pulled over all the time. You probably want to run a 35 or 36 inch tire?
bronco351, just so you know 15in wheels wont fit on a super duty. its gotta be 16in or larger due to the brakes. i have 315/75r16(35x12.50) on a 16x10 and the tires stick out just far enough to make the truck look really good. i dont have any pictures in my gallery yet so i cant show you. many people can tell you though that they look dang good.
Hey guys, I found a guy with a Ford F-350 SuperCab, Short-Bed truck. He had a 6" Pro-Comp lift and he's running 37x12.50 tires!! Let me tell ya it looks AWESSSSSSOME!! So, I guess you can run 37" tires with a 6" lift. Also I did ask him if he had any tire rub, he said he never has. Also he said that he didn't have to do any fender trimming. So, 37" tires it is.
Just one more question, I want to run BFGoodrich Mud Terrain tires. The size listed in my magazine is 37x12.50R17. I don't want to run a 17" wheel. I rather run a 16" wheel. DOes anyone know if they make the tire for the 16" wheel? Thanks for all the great help.
Off roading with 6" springs that articluate and 37/12.5 tires will rub...................Pro Comp has some stiff, stiff springs,, so most likely do not articulate enough to cause any rubbing...
Most people like the more full look of the wheel wells.....not the best for heavy off roading.
Yeah, he said he did do off-roading. He also stated the same thing you did, those springs are really stiff. If they do rub will they rub the inner fender (in the wheel wells) or will it rub the outer fender also (the painted part)?

I am very familiar with this combination. It will rub unless he is running 8" wide wheels. This kit typically provides more lift than the ProComp and you will note that it still looks a bit tight.

The BFGs are only available in 17s. 37s for 16" wheels are available from Parnelli Jones, ProComp, Dick Cepek, Swamper and Mickey Thompson.

Actually the truck he is talking about runs them on 16.5x9.75 Eagle Alloys and the owner says he never rubs......of course he has also said that the lift rides like **** and that the springs are a ***** to try and get to articulate.
