Finding the vin number ?
Can anyone guide me to where I can find the vin number that should be stamped into the chassis, I have and inspection in the next few weeks and this is part of the test. The vehicle is a 92 POWERSTROKE with a roll back fitted with a GVW of 16000 so probably the largest of this model. Tried with a torch but no luck so if you can guide me it would be a great help.

There were no Powerstroke trucks made in 1992. Either your truck is a later model or you have a 92 IDI diesel. Anyway... The two places that I know of for the frame VIN are the passenger side frame rail above the starter, roughly beneath the heater box, and the passenger side frame rail beneath the seat, roughly where the passenger's butt would be. A few trucks even had them in both locations. The "hidden" VIN under the seat is very hard to see, you need a dentist's mirror or make a putty impression to be able to read it. (Or take the cab off).
