Question I want a cool grille guard any ideas?

Hi Folks,

I have a 96 f 250 4x4 i am fixing up. i would like to get a grill guard to mount some fog lights on. however, the only sources i can find for this style truck are the old looking "bumper thumper" (the 2 horizontal bars with the 2 side plates.. like you see in the JC whitney catalog.), or the big wrap around types.

i would like to get one of the smaller rounded units like Westin's safari guard, however no one makes them for the "old" trucks.

does anyone have any good sources or ideas?
I'd be interested in knowing what all everyone out there has

thanks.

rick

Reunel, Setina, Old Man Emu, & Ranch Hand. I've posted the links several times in other threads about aftermarket bumpers.

Here's what I built for mine:

They're ALL overpriced!!!
You must have a fabricator in your area. Design your own, have him make it up for you, take it to your plater or powder coater and mount it. I had mine made up just for show. My exhaust guy bent one up and welded it together. My powder coating was done in light metal gray. Looks goooood!! $79.00 with tax!!

I agree - Meineke bent the Sch.40 pipe for my GG, and everything was welded together at whatever fabrication shop wasn't too busy (meaning they didn't charge me much for their time) when I had stuff ready. As soon as I get time, I'm gonna pull it off and have everything powdercoated inside & out.

Hey Big 6. It's nice to see that someone has kept their Bronco fairly stock. But put the money into items they can use and not be afraid to tear off a mud flap or scrap off some chrome!! HEE HEE. I love FORDs!! I 've been hooked on them since Mr. Majestic with Charles Bronson Playing a farmer, doing in the bad guys in a 68 High-Boy! Anyone out there who hasn't seen this movie, rent it or get it from the library. You'll keep that FORD once you see the action and stunts they put this truck through. They had only one for this movie and it made it through to the end. I've built up enough trucks and cars and feel like now I'm done spening money, I'll pass along some good ideas when I can. Thanks for the feedback. Talk to you again..........
