Reduced engine power then no start

Hello everyone, new to fte and wanted to know if anyone has experienced my symptoms.
I have a 2011 6.7 with 28000 miles and two wks ago I left work and drove 1 block and reduced engine power appeared then engine ran rough, I made it around corner to stop and truck shut off. Towed to dealer, no start since, they just got it in and have been "diagnosing" two days. Hope it's not the hpfp I have been reading about. Thanks for any and all replies

sure sounds like you got water in the fuel.

Every drain the water separator and ever change the fuel filters?

Yes,meant to include that info. Water light came on 4 days before,I drained and continued on light went off. Planned on changing filters on my next oil change which would have been in the near future. Dealer can't get it started. Any chance it's not the dreaded hpfp and has ford gotten any better on warrantying these?

ford won't warranty it if there is evidence of water.

They will warranty if it is a part failure.

Dealer told you what codes it has?

No, I can't get any info out of them. Only thing I have is they said it has a 26 page diagnostic process and 1 step involved checking oil pump for debris. That's what has me wondering about hpfp but I'm no mechanic. This is my 3rd diesel, 7.3 then 6.4 now this. Truck has been phenomenal up to this point. I thought this was the best truck I have ever owned even better than 7.3

Did you ever get the WIF light before that one time?
Did you drain it once a month or just that one time when light came on?
Sure sounds like a water in fuel issue but I hope im wrong.Seems too coincidental.
Was your last couple fill ups at the same fuel station?Save receipts? Crazy we have to be on top of all this petty stuff but I now save all my receipts and write mileage on every one.
I had a 7.3 previous to this and never saw WIF light come on.Never have seen it come on my 6.7 either and I think if I did I would shut the truck off right there and drain the entire tank of fuel cause chances are theres more water waiting to get sucked in.
Let us know what the DX is.I hope its not the hpfp.

Yes, first time for wif light. I have drained seperator several times before but not on a regular basis. I have one station in mind that I filled up at on a camping trip about 6 weeks ago but is a big truck stop. I usually don't keep receipts but may be able to track down with bank statements. I have to admit I never heard of this hpfp problem until my truck quit. I had a couple sensors replaced in the last year otherwise trouble free. Wish I would have known about this. Like you said my 7.3 never had an issue at all with this but I do realize they are two totally different engines and fuel systems. Keeping my fingers crossed and will let you guys know when I find something out, hopefully today.

If that fuel sat in there for 6 weeks then you may have had some condensation build up.

After 6 weeks this is probably just going to be an insurance claim.

I think it will be hard to prove that it is the same fuel from the station 6 weeks ago.

Mine has has the same problems, but all three times is was sensor that had to be replaced. Once this happened with 4 days of each other. Going down the highway, got the same type warning, engine shut off, coasted to the shoulder of the road, and would not start. a tow to the deal and a new sensor put me on the road. It is a pain in the a** at times.

Fuel didn't sit for six weeks that was just the last place I filled up that was different from normal. I was hoping it was just a egt sensor but seems to me it wouldn't take three days to diagnose that, then again didn't think it would take three days to diagnose anything, hopefully hear something today will keep posted. Thanks for all the info
