To be honest, Steve was just the type of guy that you didn't have to meet him to feel like a good friend to him; His personality just made you feel welcome and like you'd known each other forever.
Good morning all. Don't forget to pack your raincoat.
I'm going to be cleaning and organizing the workshop today. What does that mean? It means the summer camping season is over and I can get back to work on the '53 Effie.
I've decided to stop being depressed about the way the shop treated my radiator and just use it. If I get tired of looking at the dents I can replace it later.
Well, something's came available today. Got a call from one of the security firms I'd applied to, and they wanted me to start tonight. every weekend, 7pm-7am on Saturday/Sundays. 24 hours per week starting off.
John, if you know where Martin is, on Rt. 80, it's only about 3-5 miles up Rt.122, on Garth Hollow Road. So ~10 minutes from the Martin McDonalds.
Yesterday I went to pay my respects at the funeral home down in the West Liberty. Guy I went to college with died from a Brain Aneurysm. He was only 20.
They were going to bury him today.
Definitely been a rough month, guys. Our FTE brother Steve passing, Robin Williams passing, and now this guy.
Well, my cab '53 went to the paint shop yesterday afternoon.
I'm not sure how long it will take to get it finished. I guess I'd better kick my butt into gear and start finishing the little parts it will take to assemble the thing.

Sorry man, one project at a time.
I've gone back and forth on the color a hundred times. No exaggeration. I never really cared for blue (no offense Wes) until recently, when I've developed a taste for dark blue trucks. But I decided against it for the same reason I won't paint it the original black. It's too hot in the summer. I was originally going to paint it red but I've owned six red vehicles and kinda burned out on it. Red is also one of the more expensive colors to paint, and the hardest to touch up later. UV radiation just kills it.
I think I've decided to go outside the box and paint it the same color as my Fender Jazz Bass Guitar. It's a light green metallic, I think they call it "Sherwood (could be Sage) Green Metallic" or something like that. I've seen two trucks painted this color, or close, and I kind of like it. At least it will be a little different. I may end up hating it later, but there will be no "going back" as this will be the last time I take this truck apart and paint it.
The color is just a little lighter than this truck belonging to Chris Cowden of Texas:
I agree with the heat about black or dark blue trucks. Not a big fan of red cars or trucks either, unless it's a different shade of red. That green would look good. I was in London today and the owner brought a customers car in for a brake job. A 1953 Chevrolet 4 door with 51,000 miles on it. All original. 235-6 cylinder, 3 on the tree! It was a light green, brighter than your guitar, but not as bright as Chris' truck. But it hadn't seen wax in years! A very sweet car none the less.
Also, Big Car Show this Saturday in Cynthiana. Actually, they have cars, trucks, motorcycles, tractors. Huge event. With the bypass open, they are going to shut US-27 down through the city this year. They had over 1400 vehicles there last year. I doubt I will be there, but thought I'd let the rest of you all know.

I'd love to go but there's a wedding in our dining hall Saturday.
