Oh this sucks

I just realized my fuel tank on a Super Cab 6.7 is going to be 26 gallons. That sucks. I will transfer my RDS into the 15 when it gets here but is plain pure stoopid.

Yeah, take a 6 foot bed and put an 18 inch fuel tank in it and you don't have much left.

Is Ford getting in the Aux tank business and trying to get us to buy them?

Unfortunately, no one makes a larger replacement for the SC SB trucks. So your only option (without going custom fabrication) is loosing bed space with an in bed tank or using Titan's super expensive spare tire tank and loosing your spare. I've been waiting for someone to make a direct replacement for us short bed super cab guys but nothing yet....

Yeah, it's a small tank.
Just make sure everything is perfect with an aftermarket tank. You don't want want water finding its way into the fuel.

I really like my F350 and I purchased it from dealer stock instead of ordering. Had everything I wanted, except the bigger tank. Now I wish I would have went with an 8' bed so I would have more fuel capacity.

Unless you live in the city I see no practical use for a short bed. JMHO.

My next Ford will be an 8 foot bed ...if it is a diesel. I like the short bed around town...parking. If it is a 6.2 it will be a short bed cause you get the same tank either way. You would think they could do that with a diesel also.

The gas and diesel short beds used to be the same but the the addition of a DEF tank on the diesel trucks cut the space for the fuel tank...

My current diesel truck has a smaller tank compared to the longbed version...about 7 gallons different if my memory serves me correctly. With only a 14 inch difference in overall length I will take the longbed over the shortbed next time. Drove a 2015 6.7 Lariat yesterday and man is it nice.

Ok ordered my truck last night. Reading the papers when I got home show when I select the 6.7 it puts in a 37.5 gallon tank on the 158" wheel base. I am happy now.

Your misunderstanding what I said. Short bed gas and diesel trucks used to have the same size tank as each other. With the addition of DEF, the diesel tank shrunk but the gas tank stayed the same. Long beds always had more in both gas and diesel. Congrats on the new truck purple!!
