Okay for those of y'all familiar with EVTM's I encountered something I need a bit of help with..........
2003 E-Series printed EVTM, cells 54-1 > 54-8; looking for what I believe to be connector C339 but cannot find it anywhere in those cells. I have it on the van but curious which fuses feed the constant on power available at that connector.
Unless I'm just missing it so far have not found it shown on my EVTM.
You need the DVD. I think I can cross-reference that somehow and find it's location. I will try and remember to look it up when I get home tonight or it might be tomorrow morning.
but each use I have to reset my computer date/time to reflect the date of the CD/DVD.
There's a pretty simple work-around for that. Use runasdate(dot)exe to launch the tsobrowser(dot)exe application. For example. the following command line one of mine.
[Note: I had to "fix" the command line and its descriptions.]
runasdate is in its own folder.
09\09\2007 is a valid date for the DVD I have. Note the syntax of the date.
TSO_04_09 is a folder that contains the volumes for 04-09 model years.
Franklin that's an interesting find---I'd have sworn it was 54 related. Thanks for clearing that up for me--from here I should be able to track it down in my printed version.
PSHO89 thanks for that work around---I'll give it a try and see how I do. I'm about to spring for another DVD covering the '03 E-Series so this should be helpful there too!
Much appreciate the replies guys---reps sent! (Edit: Craps---looks like I've already repped you guys, have to "spread it around..." first before adding more to ya both.)
So I have an original OEM EVTM DVD for 2007-08 trucks, older version from a dealership. It won't read in my Win7 computer so I previously asked the seller what steps might be required to successfully read this DVD. Their reply was:
Hi, These CD manuals only work when you are using Internet Explorer and windows operating system. It will not work with Google Chrome, Mozilla, or Safari.
Does this sound correct? I wasn't aware my browser would affect use. During initial opening of the DVD I thought it was trying to access OASIS but naturally I'm not part of that service.
That seller is clueless. The internet browser isn't relevant.
FWIW, the connector lookup in the later DVD packages doesn't work in my system and I have IE installed and functional. I've never dug into it to try and fix it yet.
My DVD works fine with my windows 7. I have a problem with the older Ford CD's I have.
I do not know much about computers, but it seems the older windows handled the info in 32 bit form, the windows 7 I have handles it in 64 bit form. The older cd's only work with the older 32 bit format. It is serious enough to where there is no easy fix. The only fix I keep reading about is to create a "virtual machine" on my newer computer, and run windows 98 on it. It would take a whole section out of the computer, and configure it so it thinks it's a older machine.
It sounds like a real pain, and if I did it my computer would probably get a bunch of gliches I would have to deal with. Plus, I would have to round up or buy the windows 98 operating system from somewhere. Computer guru's do it all the time with no trouble, but I just can't bring myself to do it. If I want to look at those older cd's, I have to get my old laptop out.
I too am running Win7 but need my BIOS configured to run WVM. My IT guy will crap and give me a 20 minute lecture how I'm open to all the hackers etc.
I do have an "older" XP Pro computer that could and should stay off line, not even connected to an ISP. Is there an easy configuration "tricking" it into letting these out dated discs run properly?
