I have searched the archives and only found one reference to my question and it wasn’t an exact match.
I am installing a new sound system in my truck, and like everyone has found out, the DVD no longer works. I grounded the Drain wire and gave 12 volts to the ASYSON in hopes that my DVD player was one of the ones which worked headless, and unfortunately it will not. Based on what I have read in the archives my unit is relying on information from the Audio Corporate Protocol channels.
I would like to replace the DVD player in the overhead with a universal single DIN unit and continue to use the factory screen. I have been unable to locate the pinouts for the 22 Pin connector between the DVD player and the LCD screen. I took everything apart and found the +/- video signal, several of the grounds and power for the backlight, however there are still a lot left and there seems to be no logical color code to speak of. Most of the wires in the bundle are solid white.
So, my long winded question, does anyone have the pinouts for the 22 Pin connector between the DVD player and the LCD?

I don't know any specifics but have you talked to the guys at PIE to make sure they don't have an adapter that will work for you. Here are some for Ford vehicles, but none of them specifically mention the Excursion.

I spoke to METRA and the guys at Installer.com and neither of them could help me. Apparently the 2003 Excursion model year is difficult due to multiple running changes in the equipment for the entertainment system.

I will try calling PIE tomorrow.
