August "It's hotter than..." TN chat thread
~ and ain't that the truth!
Someone once told me if we can stand it through the second week of August - it get's cooler from then on...
I think I was in Norfolk Virginia at the time, where by six in the morning a pair of safety glasses could steam up until you couldn't even see through them.
Looking at the calendar, there ain't no holidays this month. But if you have kids
Them little hellions is back in school now!!!
And now for all of those "It's HOTTER THAN..." jokes!
Have at it - beginning with:

Straight temps are in the low to mid nineties, and no rain yesterday which was the last expected for a week.
I guess my plants will have to drink poplar grove chlorine for a while...

It is definitely getting warmer. We were fortunate to get some rain yesterday. The rain barrels are just about full now. THat should get me through this week....hopefully we'll catch a stray shower soon to re-fill them before they go dry. Hope you have all enjoyed the weekend....back to the grind tomorrow.

I'm thinking of digging a Duck Pond - but mainly to get some soil to use in planters.
Ducks would be a cool addition to my resources, and I wanted to go in that direction for years. The problem is I am not fool enough to think such a project would be without a substantial start-up investment.
