Replace brake light switch - 1950 F1 panel

So it seems like I may have a bad brake light switch. I plan to check the wiring to make sure that it's not a wiring problem first. I see how the switch installs into the MC and that looks very simple. Do I need to bleed the system if I take the switch out? Will I lose brake fluid if I take it out?

I am planning to have the entire brake system checked out by a professional shop to make sure everything s good. I know it needs brake shoes and parking brake adjustment. If the switch changeout is simple, I will do it. If not, I may have the shop do it.

Opinions or recommendations?

Joe

Its real straight forward to do, but if its going to the shop for a brake rebuild, might as well let them do it, that way if it twists off, its theirs to fix.

Thats about the easiest work you'll ever do on your truck, a pair of channel locks and 5 minutes, no you won't need to bleed the brakes and you may lose a few drops of fluid. Have fun!

Thanks John,

It makes everyone look and smile, especially the ladies.

Glad to hear you are feeling better. I have "been there and done that" so I know a lot about it.
