Tip for broke EGT sensor

I just installed the DPF-R delete kit for my 08 F-250, I just deleted the DPF, left the CAT and EGR on. This is the best thing I've done to the truck, if anyone on here is tired of regens and 11.2 MPG, get this delete kit, my mileage went up to 18-19 and that's stop and go, haven't been on the interstate yet to see what it does there. I selected the 70HP tune and the power is unbelievable, as soon as you hit the gas it is gone, it reminds me of the 6.7L, has the take off and power of the new engine. Anyway, gearboxz gave me a hint of what to do if the EGT sensor won't come out and breaks, if it does the truck will idle high but you don't have to go to ford and buy another sensor below is a way to fix the problem for less than a buck.

Here is a tip in case you break the EGT sensor out of the DPF during installation, instead of going to the dealer and buying another sensor you can go to radio shack and get a 330 ohm 1/2 watt resistor, cut the wires on the sensor and make a "U" out of the resistor, butt splice each sensor wire to the wires of the resistor to make a jumper, the truck will idle like normal and you have saved eighty bucks.

Did you use this method? I broke 2 of mine but was thinking instead of cutting wires just go right to the plug and install them there.

Tried calling Gearbox today to no avail.

thanks for the info. how did you determine 330 ohms? does the value go down as the sensor heats up or does it it go up?

thanks
