SCT Livewire 5015 EGT issues
Pyrometer:
As for the issues I have.... prior to installing custom tunes the pyrometer (EGR) was reading 3100 as a base line. In other words, as soon as i started the vehicle, and then went up from there. After sitting in my garage for 4 days while we were out of town, it now appears to be working properly. After reprogramming the vehicle to stock so that I could add my new custom tunes jumped back up to the 3100 benchmark. Upon installing and reprogramming with Gearhead tunes, it appears to be working properly again.
Engine Load:
This was working fine at first. At zero when idling, jumping to 20-40% depending on acceleration. 13-24% under driving conditions at 65mph. Now upon start and while idling it shows 25-40% and that variance is contingent on whether AC's are running. 25% being AC's off. Upon acceleration it drops and normal driving with steady speeds seem to be accurate unless it falls below 15% (due to coasting) and this causes the % to jump back up.
I contacted SCT and they did the live link and updated the device (even though it is new) as well as downloaded all my new custom tunes (Gearhead) to the device. Still has same problems except now it appears the Turbo Boost gauge is off. They told me that I would need to send it in to rule out the possibility that it is indeed the SCT tuner. They are trying to blame the mechanic for possibly damaging a sensor at the time all the work was done therefore causing all the crazy readings.
Please keep me posted and let me know if you find a fix and I'll do the same. You can reach me at dunnkman at gmail
