Newbie to the boards and I had a brain fart that I need some opinions on.
I used to own a 97 Expedition and still currently own a 98 F-150 4.6L. Lately my job has had me driving a lot on two lane roads with 55 mph speeds and the usual drivers who can't seem to get up to that speed. So I decided to see what I could bolt on to help my truck a little in the passing deptartment.
Here is my problem: I crossed up the years on my old Exped. and the F-150 when I bought a Flowmaster Force II Kit. The kit is already on the way and just realized today that I got the 17137 kit for the 1997 instead of the 17222 kit for the 1998 truck.
Will this kit still work, will I need to make some minor mods, or am I screwed?
I think that the difference is the exit location. The 97's exited in front of the rear tire, the 98-up exit behind it. I'm sure that with a couple of small modifycations, it will work.
Go to Flowmaster.com and see if you can get some tech help there.

This kit is actually the rear exit kit, not the side exit. It arrived today and I pulled the pieces out. From what I see it should work, just won't be sure until I start installing.
im new to the thread i have read a lot of posts here though
i see if it matches up i dont see a prob. with it
mine was costom done at a proformance muffler shop but
i would check your hangers to make shur it matches up
that should be your major concern here
i can say this you will notice a power diffrence though you will
like it
To follow up on this thread. I was able to use the 97 kit on my 98 truck. The only thing that didn't line up was the hanger right over the muffler. I welded all the seams on the pipes and attached the new hangers at the tail pipe locations, but need to get a universal hanger from a muffler shop to finish it off.
