power steering trouble

hey all my 56 power steering wants to go to the right when i first start it ??never seen this before , ok its a mid 80,s power steer resevoir attached to a volare box any ideas ????

Sounds like you got a Republican box... Sorry couldn't resist. Here are a couple things I found on the problem.

Your control valve is out of adjustment. On top of the steering box where the 2 hoses go. Loosen the 2 bolts and center it. I watched my alignment guy do it while the motor was running. Slightly loosen them and tap it with a plastic mallet. He did it with the wheels off the ground until it no longer turned the tires. Blew me away. I was ready to buy a new steering gear. Ford pump on a Chrysler steering box, no problem (after the adjustment).
