PSD 7.3 straight pipe

Afternoon everyone!

So my muffler was pretty much like falling off so I decided to stop at a muffler shop and had them cut it out and straight pipe it as it was the cheapest option and I'm broke.
Turns out it sounds like s####.
All I can think of is like a 100 cc bike.
Anything I can do to help with the horrible noise?
This is just temporary until I can afford a 4" turbo back

Post an audio clip/video and get some ear plugs.

Turn up the radio too.

Cover the air filter with a bag and act like a douche?

This is the best I could come up with.
You can somewhat get an idea of what I'm talking about but the microphone does do justice to how bad it sounds going down the road.

I'll pass on the whole "rolling coal" hype.

I like hearing the turbo, but it sounds like a 5.5 hp Briggs & Stratton without oil.

Right!!!
I hate driving it around now. Even though I can blare the music and not hear it, I just KNOW that it's out there making that noise and it just makes the truck more of a s***tbox than it already is.
LOL

It does sound horrible, but it could be worse. At least the muffler won't fall off now

Only if it has bellows in it, otherwise it just moves the sound further from the truck.

Good luck

Just to report back, I stopped by autozone and picked up an exhaust tip and that solved the problem.

I just replaced my stock exhaust last week and had intended to leave it straight piped but hated the same sound yours is making. I solved the issue by putting in a Flowmaster muffler. Deepened and smoothed out the exhaust tone, plus the turbo whistle still comes through. Here's the link the one I installed.

I didn't want to get a muffler because I'll be replacing the whole thing next year so I wanted to avoid wasting money

Yeah I'm just glad I was able to resolve it with a $20 part.
It was also the only exhaust tip they offered that fits it. Apparently my exhaust is 3.5". I thought stock was 3"

I also thought my stock pipe was 3". Wish I'd have known before I went to 4" cuz I'd have just changed the muffler.
