City driving somewhere around 14-15mpg highway 17-18ish.... if the original owner took care of the truck and did the proper maintenance that motor can go well over 500k, there are a few issues one is the crank position sensor which is a 60 dollar fix and about ten minutes. Another is somehow the factory aluminum fuel bowl rots yea I know odd. On some 7.3 the injector control module on the drivers side fender burns out my dads 2000 7.3 just did this cost him 330 dollars for the part and I had it installed in about twenty minutes. The E40D trans is soso first thing I would do is a fluid flush add a spin on transmission filter and add a TransGo shift kit, this will defiantly add life to the trans as well as get that sucker to shift the way it should instead of peanut butter soft like Ford has it
