1bbl vs 2bbl?
1bbl vs 2bbl?
Hi, I'm new to the threads but I've gotten some pretty good info off of here before, anyway, I have a 300 i6 in my 69 F250,
I've been thinking of throwing a 2bbl on it recently, only thing I worry about is my gas mileage going to pot because it gets 14-15 now. Can anyone tell me what they might think I'll get with a 2bbl? It's a stock engine btw :3 thanks in advance!

Hello Meanstreak and welcome to the forums! There's plenty of info on here that's already addressed this issue, so a few searches should result in a wealth of information.
But that said, going to a 2bbl or even a 4bbl shouldn't adversely affect your gas mileage if you tune it right. For what it's worth, I've gotten 17 - 19 mpg in mine with a 600 cfm 4bbl.
Making sure your carb is tuned properly, your ignition is in top shape, and all fresh fluids in the trans and differentials, as well as good driving habits are going to dictate your fuel mileage much more than the size of carb you pick. Keep in mind that going to a 2bbl is going to tempt you to stomp on the gas a bit more.
Best of luck!
