barn door latch

Anyone have a broplem with the rear door latching?the glass hatch closes ok it is just the barn door that wont latch. Is there a fix or do I have to replace the lock mechanism. Thanks

First I've heard of this problem.

Have you tried cleaning (copious amounts of brake clean or something similar) and then a spray lubricant?

Yes I have cleaned and lubed. It is the second door. I tried to latch the lock with a screwdriver but it wont hold shut. Was hoping someone else might have a simple fix.

I'm sorry to say, you may finally have to get rid of the EX. Never heard of this issue.

Darn it! well I'll have to start all over.

It actually stays closed without the door light on after you close the glass hatch.

Rear barn doors
Is this the left (drivers side) or right Passenger side that is not latching?
I had to adjust the drivers side D ring that comes up from the floor because it was out of alignment (loose).

It is the passenger side. The second door to close before you shut the hatch. I tried to get the mechanism to lock with a screwdriver but no go.

Thanks that would be great. I found a guy that has a wreaked one and was gonna buy the rear doors just for the lock.

I'm having this same issue what did you do? Buy new latch? Is it spring?

For anyone that is gonna work on the door locks etc be prepared to break the brittle clip holding the locking rod. So you dont have to struggle thru the parts catalog. This is what you you are looking for.
