Spindles
Spindles
I just acquired a super nice 64 F100.
I want 5x4.5 front disc brakes.
I only find kits for 48-56 F100s in 5x4.5.
If I mill a 48-56 spindle to accept a .859 in kingpin will it bolt to my 64 axle and steering?
My truck has a 57 rear end and I have a set of 65 Mustang axles for it, so I just need to figure out the fronts.
Thanks

I don't know with any authority about a 64, but I suspect there would be more involved than just reboring the king pins, like king pin inclination, spindle boss location and spacing, steering geometry. If no one makes a kit with your desired spacing for your truck and you must have disk brakes, seems it would be a lot easier to use a kit with a different spacing and redrill the hubs and hats to the desired lug spacing, or use adapter spacers to change the pattern.
Redrilling is probably the easiest route.
You never know, the spindles may be a direct swap and with the number of front clips going under these trucks there are plenty of them around.
5x4.5 has a lot more wheel options than 5x5.5.
