Hi all,
The other day the interior lights (dome, map lights, glove box lights, floor lights) and the cargo light quit in my 1894 F-250 4x4 6.9. The headlight switch wont turn them on, the doors wont turn them on, Nothing turns them on. Any ideas where to start looking or of any known common problems would be greatly appreciated!
I don't mean to sound harsh, but wouldn't it be good to tell us those things up front?
Given that, my guess is that the headlight switch or the wiring leading to it has gone bad. The headlight circuit on these trucks is really just an accident wanting to happen. All of the current for the headlights and all other lighting goes through the switch and they are prone to failure. Or, a wire connected to it frequently heats up and either burns through or melts into an adjacent wire.
I would slide under the dash and check out the condition of the switch and adjacent wiring.
