I don't know what kind you have but most ones I have seen flake, peel and scratch off. It seems like nothing more than fancy undercoating to me. Rhino Lining is probably the best around but at $500 a pop, it's not cheap.
I found a local guy who does it and competes against the Rhino Lining guy, and he's about $250. But as for the roll on stuff on in the can, I have never seen any hold up.
I've heard mixed reviews from the "roll-on" crowd. The biggest gripe has been the fact that it grays and dulls in a short period of time, hence the ugly factor. As far as durability goes, most agree it is pretty tough but not suitable for ultra-rugged use.
If your German Shorthair is anything like mine, it wouldn't last a day.
Yes, I've heard gripes about the fading of all applied bed liners, Rhinos included. I was thinking about going with a gray-colored liner to begin with so fading would be somewhat less noticeable and also to be a little cooler for the pooch.
She is a good dog, but sometimes a little too exbuerant. Last night she tried to jump back in the bed of the truck, AFTER I had closed the tail gate. She didn't even come close to clearing it. She'll learn...maybe.
