89 f250 / 460 - I'm trying to replace the battery ground, it's at least 12 years old, shows some corrosion and I get at least 20+ ohms motor to battery. It looks like the cable goes into an opening beside the #1 cylinder, is there a good easy way to access this? Thanks.
No it is a little hard to get to.
But the large ground cable must go to the engine block.
The one of smaller wires must also go to the computer.
There needs to be another say 10GA wire running to the body of the truck.
All of the above must com from the NEG post of the battery.
You may also want to run one to the frame if you pull a trailer or use the frame for a ground for something.
From in front or behind? (I was under there today but had a hard time seeing the attachment point. I could see it from up top, but could not get to it).

Phil -- For your consideration: the #4 stuff seems to be a little more prone to heat and impedance..............you might want to consider some #2 wire.........keeps the trons flowing better when things heat up under the hood (like your big block)............

Thank you for the helpful advice. I was at Papa Johns getting some 1/2 price pizza, and when I went to leave, the solenoid (1 day old) had seized up again, so long story short, I wound up going to a Munro across the street. I fabbed up a wire in my material of choice (JLAudio fine cored wire - left over from my MX-5 build) and they put it on for like 20 bucks and change. I'd say well worth it. Seems like the whole truck runs better, but time will tell if all is well. Knock on wood.
