Found a 2002, F250 5.4 regular cab 4wd 6spd for sale. Engine has a real bad knock and the guy said it needs replaced. (I haven't seen it yet).
I think it'd be a fun truck to play with if I could get it cheap enough. My questions are...
Whats a rebuild or replacement for a 5.4 going to run? Worth it? Body looks in good shape, 177k miles, but minimal rust.
Second is that I'd need to haul it about 3 hours. Only trailer i have access to for free is a 16ft, wood deck utility trailer with dual 3500lb axles. I know the body would hang over, but is the trailer big enough weight wise?
I think it will fit on the trailer just fine. I just towed an f150 on a 16' deck trailer and had a food foot and a half to two feet left over. I think the wheel base on it was 5" shorter than my reg cab sd. Width will be your only issue. It was firmly on the trailer, but the tires were over the edge about an inch on each side, so be careful getting it on the trailer. You can put the truck on backwards and not have as much body overhang too.
