Wrong vin???
I just bought a 55 f100 project. It came with a title, but it has an interesting VIN on the title. It's not the typical F10xxxxxx number. It has "ASN38099DEL" listed as the VIN. It's not a "homebuilt" title either, the mfgr. is listed as Ford.
How can it be listed with a different VIN?
With just a quick internet search I can't find anything, but I hope I didn't pay for a worthless title.

You should find a tag installed by some Delaware law official (state police, or whatever agency is in charge of that kind of thing there) with that same number that matches the title, either on the body, frame, or both.
