Fuel Pump

I have a 2002 Ford F-250 V-10 and my fuel pump went out the other day . Do they just go out or is it a gradually thing . Thanks for any info and I did replace the fuel filter too

They die in two ways, several little episodes of stuttering/starvation then back to normal until finally dead or they just flat die out of the blue. Mine never gave any indication that it wasn't feeling well, pulled the travel trailer to a campsite fine with no issues then shut it down after spotting the camper. I then realized I had a clearance issue with one of the camper's slides so I needed to reposition the trailer, truck wouldn't start, fuel pump was totally dead. So then I had a dead truck still hitched up to a trailer that couldn't even be setup! Great start to the first trip of the year and our first overnight in the new camper.

Mine just died while in a parking lot pulling out. It had 190,000 on it. I also replaced the filter with the pump. No warning at all. Mine is also a 2002 v10.
