I think a dirty fuel filter will throw that code too. I think... How old is the fuel filter?
I meant to do the fuel filter with my last oil change, but ran out of daylight. It's definitely on my to-do list. It is at least a year old when I bought the truck, my suspicion is it wasn't changed out for a long while before that.....
Would the GPCM prevent starting even when the weather is warm. I'm basically at a no start now, it has started once or twice, very hard. When it runs, it is smooth and strong, but I cannot for the life of me figure out what the problem is. I have changed the fuel filter, oil pressure sensors (both, the one on top of the HPOP reservoir and the one on the HP oil rail), the hoses look to be OK, and the PSI from HPOP readings is right where it should be while running.
I have also replaced both batteries.
Should I change my focus toward fuel related issues? If so, where do I start?
The chip is causing the theft light to flash because it disables the pats system. I read somewhere that you can disconnect the light. The thing is you can now use a non chipped key, could be considered good or bad by some.
Well, I had to bite the bullet and take it to the stealership because I am leaving Sunday for vacation. Turns out the no start issue was a bad Injector Drive Module.
OK, so the starting issues are completely solved. As I crawled under the truck while doing the rear brakes and changing rear diff fluid, I grabbed the driveshaft and manually turned it back and forth. The rear u joints have A LOT of slop in them. When driving, I am getting a pretty loud clunk on acceleration, and deceleration, that can be heard as well as felt. Would u joints cause such a noise? Is this a difficult repair?
