No Crank No Start
Hi Guys,,, Just about to head out camping in the bush and the truck wont start..
Thought the camper drained my batts but they are now fully charged and I turn the key and hear a solenoid kicking in but no crank not even trying to crank
Do you think its safe to say the starter is Pooched???

Wouldn't assume that yet. Try jumping the relay on the passenger fender (MAKE SURE the tranny is in NEUTRAL (or PARK if an automatic), as this bypasses the safety switch. Even if it doesn't start, see if you hear the solenoid on the starter is clicking.

Hi I pulled the starter and put power directly to the starter motor...motor turned
Then powered the starter motor through the soliniod, the starter gear went out and motor turned.
I will put starter back in truck and try jumping the solenoid on pass fender

That's assuming it's an automatic, and if it were the safety switch, you wouldn't hear either the relay or the solenoid clicking.
But it would be helpful to know what transmission is in the truck.
