Catalytic Converter

While recently working on the transmission of my 1990 F-Super Duty I noticed that there are two tubes that run to the catalytic converter that are both rust off the converter.

I don't have to e-check this vehicle but is it safe to remove those tubes from the system or could it damage the engine?

Those tubes supply fresh air to the stock cats under certain conditions, removing them won't damage the motor but it may lead to cat failure.

Can I remove the cat and just go with normal exhaust?

Yes if you don't have emissions to pass the stock cat can go, yes.

No testing on the farm here...sweet!!!

What about the equipment that is attached to the tubes in the engine compartment. Can I remove that too?

Sorry I new at the desmogging anything.
