Sorry brother, I should have been more specific.

They may work, but they don't work well when it comes to preventing spring wrap, at least not as well as a set of slapper bars or Caltracs.

I'm not saying they don't provide some function, but not nearly enough to keep most 4x4 Excursion owners from seeking some sort of V code/B code spring upgrade.

For what they are meant to provide, and for how the 4x4 Excursions suffer, I'd say the OEM springs fail in that regard.

I do agree that the X springs suck! and the slapper bar setup Ford gave us was better than nothing. I would like to one of the spring swap/mods, but I only have about 1.5 inches of roof clearance to get in my garage. if I do the springs the roof of the X would scrape the garage door weatherstrip!

No, those need to be removed if you are putting them on the Excursion. They get in the way of the AC lines on the passenger rear side. When you do a search for the modded B-code springs you will see a sample of that spring getting removed and the spring pack modified with with leafs from your original excursion springs.
