Trying to figure this out. It's a Holley 2bbl any number I've found on it doesn't help with identifying it. I'm trying to get my truck running better. There is only one screw for adjustments and it's just the idle speed screw. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
What year is the truck? that sure looks like someone put throttle body injection on that motor. I believe dodge may have used a holley throttle in the late 1980's?
Okay thanks! Now I need to start researching these. Is there anything else I should check for that should have been changed/upgraded to make this work properly? Is this a better system or should I consider swapping back to a carburetor?
Throttle body injection was simply a phase in technology between the standard carburetor and modern EFI. Parts go bad just like anything else. Looks like you have some corrosion going on but hard to tell how bad from your pic. Injectors get clogged or go bad. While never having to actually work on one, I have run them with no problems and parts are available. Post the issues you are having and someone surely will be able to help.
In fact, I have considered TBI on my 200 I6, drawback being finding one the right size for my engine.
I'm having rough idle issues similar to having a miss and hard starting issues.Temperature never seems to play a factor. It runs fine, has power, and the gas mileage is good. It's just the idle that is off. I'll also get occasional smoke out of the exhaust followed by raw gas smell.
I replaced the fuel filter and pcv valve yesterday. Plugs wires cap and rotor were done about 6 months ago. Adjusted the timing yesterday with a vacuum gauage. Idle is better but still hesitates once in awhile. Had to crank it 3-4 times this morning before it finally started.
You need to get a copy of the software that came with the Pro-Jection. There's an EEC somewhere that can be connected to a laptop (with the tuning software) to log data and adjust the fuel map.
