Good luck. I need to do a trans flush my self. I have drained the pan a few times as a better then nothing. But I do want to do complete flush before plow season this year.
Everything went good. Brakes first, clean up takes most of the time.
2nd was Monroe gas/magnum on all corners.
Easier with rotors off for the front btw!
3rd was Trans flush per write up link here. Drained pan then pulled. Be ready for small fluid spash coming down on ya win ya pull filter out.
Thankfully I put tarp under truck. Tip from Jeff. Looked at magnet and it had plenty of fuzz on it. Then the big GULP! Pretty big chunks of Metal pieces.
6-10 of them big enough to ping win dropped in the pan. They where at the base of magnet. Hoping it has been there a LONG time.
Flush and replaced with Valvoline MercronV. Easy procedure.
Major tip is to realize that once the last 6 quarts go in you should be flushed.
I started truck again for 30 secs or so. Over flushed by 2.5 qts
But like Kevin said, atleast we know ALL the old is out!
Hopeful the Trans has atleast 40.000 miles left in it to reach 250.000 miles.
