The compressor in my 95 PSD died a horrible, nasty, shrieking death after 325,000 miles, so I guess it's time to replace it. I've got a compressor, condensor, accumulator/receiver/drier, orifice tube and all new O-rings. I do have a flush kit, vacuum pump, manifold gauges, etc., and experience working on air conditioning systems in the past albeit mostly imports. So, the questions:
1. I like having all my parts together before beginning a project. Am I missing anything obvious?
2. I know Ford likes using quick-connects for their AC and fluid hardlines. I glanced over the system but it looked like all the connections were nuts, not quick connects. I have access to the tools for that if needed, but I'd have to go get them before I get started. Does this system use quick connects and I just overlooked them, or does it not have them?
3. Are there any quirks or gotchas for servicing this system? I know it's got an orifice tube instead of the expansion valve I'm more used to and that I have to replace it, but is there anything else I should know? I am going to be thoroughly flushing out the parts I don't replace, of course.
