I just ordered Bilstein 5100 for my F350, from what I have read they are the only shocks to use on trucks whether lifted or standard. Unfortunately I have dual front shocks and single rear as my truck is lifted 6" so I am having to spend $$$ but it will be worth it

Hey Chuck, glad to hear these shocks have settled into a "groove" for you. My sons truck now has the torsion bars cranked (not to the max, but close) and 33x12.50x17 Hercules Trail Grapplers and the ride is still acceptable. I was expecting to get a bit of road wander with the wider tires (His truck came with 17's from the factory) and have been pleasantly surprised. I made a couple of cross town road trips with it, and it handles nicely.

What's the reason for cranking the torsion bars?

It is called the poor man's leveling kit . It makes the truck sit level, not nose heavy like stock. He is a teenager, and wanted more lift. I told him he could lift it to the moon if he wanted to............but on his dime!! If you don't crank them (torsion bars) all the way to the limit, it really does no harm, and can be accomplished in the driveway. He has a buddy that works at the local 4x4 shop, so he took it over there and the owner supervised my son and his buddy do the job. There are several threads here and in the suspension forum that explain all the hows and whys. He also received new wheels for Christmas for it, V-Line 713, 17x9, and needed a little extra height to clear the wheels and tires when turning sharp.
