Powerdyne Installs?
Has anyone ever installed a Powerdyne Supercharger for a 5.8L ?
I am really wanting to increase my pulling ability without buying a diesel or a V10 or anything else over $20,000.00.
I pull a 5,000LB camping trailer with my 1997 5.8L F250 and I slow way down from 65 to 45 on hills - Not mountain passes.
I have read up on the Powerdyne Supercharger and it almost sounds too good to be true! Says I would have close to 455lbs of torque. The 460 puts out 400 lbs....
Also, will my gas mpg go down and if yes, How much.
I'm trying to weigh the choice of getting a 1997 460 F250 or the Powerdyne Supercharger.
Please reply & Thanks in advance.

They will increase the power by about 50%. So if you have 300 lbs of torque, you will get 450. They also put a strain on the bottom end due to the increased cylinder pressure, as well as the cooling system. Make sure that they are up to snuff. If you have a little blowby now, it will be much worse with the huffer on it.

Also in 1997 Ford made 2 F250's. Mine is the HD with the 351.
I have read the 5.4 has more hp on paper but the 351 feels a lot stronger driving.
My truck has 108K miles on it so I thought I would run it with the Supercharger until the engine needs to be rebuilt.
My 351 gets 13-15 mpg as my daily driver and is a 5 speed.
I saw that Summit Racing has the Supercharger for $2,200.00 and I can get a $200.00 rebate from Powerdyn's website.
So the deal is looking better yet....
