I believe block captain is something to do with neighborhood watch. I always referred to one guy who used to live out here as the block captain because he seen a burglary in progress and chased the guy off with a shotgun. My "neighborhood" is about a 3 mile stretch of county road.
Happy July everyone. I get to have my vacation the 18th(27 year anniversary with Patzilla) through the 28th at home relaxing by the pool and going nowhere. Then I get to leave at sundown the 31st with family to Gulf Shores, Alabama for a few days on the beach(first leaving home vacation Patty and I have ever taken), returning to work on the 5th of August.
Dan, thanks for steeping up and making the July thread come to life.
Jeff, bumper should fit but will probably not look right. The hitch might fit too, but what you need it to see is if it is the same width as your frame. Measure the flat mount part of the hitch, I think your frame is 34" or 36" wide back there. 34" might be for a highboy??
The heads are the same, but everything else is different.
You'll need the intake manifold, water pump, accessory mounting brackets, hoses, etc. The engine mounts should be the same, but even the exhaust manifolds and Y pipe are different. The Windsor only LOOKS like a small block. It's actually very different.
I'll have the entire engine at my disposal, including wiring harness and fuel system. I can also probably end up with the 2wd ZF that's behind it. Wouldn't mind finding a junk 4x4 unit with a good mainshaft and tailhousing.......
good morning missouri.. gonna be another wasted day i have to get my shack ready for the oldest daughter to come visit tomorrow.. she is bringing kiley, my great grand daughter with her. will the first time she has ever been here.. i guess i will have to take her to the lake, and down to the swimming hole and such things..
Awesome deal to even have a great grand daughter, and you get to meet her. That does mean you are old....
Last day till fun time, tomorrow we head out to Down Stream Casino for a mini pre vacation deal.
Little Big Town is in concert Thursday night then Fri the 4th we will be at Penny's sisters for a big family gathering/BBQ/fireworks and a surprise B day party for Penny....shhhhhhhh
Her actual B day is Monday, but we will be somewhere else for that one. And boy do I have a surprise for that day.....I will tell the tale later.
So good morning Missouri and have a great one and stay cool today.
I got one of the headlights hammered out last night for the C-cab. I think it looks pretty cool, but there's still more to do. I have to hit a junk yard and get the actual headlight buckets, adjusters and spring so I can mount the 7" round headlights. I made them look like old gas lantern headlights. It turned out pretty cool, but now I have to make another one.
I'll get some pictures today if I remember the camera.
I had a doctors appointment with my gastro guy. (butt doctor) I'm starting to feel like a used car here. I get a few hundred thousand miles and we need to go in and weld stuff together, modify some obsolete parts, cut other stuff out, replace this, fix that. ....sheesh.
After I get my back surgery done and over with, I have to go back in and have my colon removed. The last scope was not good. I had a pseudo-pollup. If nobody knows what that is, it's when you have what looks like a pollup, but it's actually the only good tissue left in an otherwise dead colon. SOOOooooo, .....it's time for it to come out. Between the spine surgery and the colon surgery (which is actually two surgeries) this winter is gonna suck. A lot.
Hope everybody has a good 4th of July holiday tomorrow. We had some friends of Shari's that were coming over and have some BBQ'd Chicken that I'm doing, and they've cancelled on us, so it's just us sitting here tomorrow.
Appointment at a Firestone shop Saturday morning to get the tires balanced on the truck. I can feel one vibrating just a little bit at highway speeds, and I don't want to feel that, or cause abnormal wear to an 18" Michelin tire that I don't want to replace yet.
Then we take off Sunday morning for a week in Gatlinburg Tn. Hope y'all are doing well back home. Light a firework for me
