Need Help Quick

Ok so as I posted in another Thread I got my Bassani Y-pipe in...now I am in the process of installing it but i can only get one of the studs from the manifold to the y loose. And the one that is coming loose is coming out as a whole stud not the nut coming off the stud.....WHAT DO I DO?

Sometimes these are easier to get out when they are warm - but then you burn the heck out of your hands. Also spray some liquid wrench on them and let it sit for a while first.

The one that is coming out as a stud, just continue to take it out. You can either put it back in the same way (like a bolt) or put in a new stud.

Are those studs something Standard that I can get at Autozone or some place like that?

Ok New problem (why does everything take so damn long for me?) I can't get the A.I.R hose to come off its the only thing holding the y on.

Penetrating oil did the trick on the last one.

Had to lop my air tube off with a sawzall, even if you do get that danged little clamp loose the tube's on there pretty tight. depending on how the air tube hooks up to the bassani unit this might be the best bet. Sorry, not much help. Got a bassani ordered for my bronc. I'll tell ya how it goes if you've not got it buttoned up by then. Good luck.

Studs are standard sized. You should be able to get them at any auto parts store.

AUBronco,

I cut through my A.I.R. tube with a regular hacksaw. Bassani provides enough high temp hose to still connect everything even if you have to cut the clamp off the tube. Pair of regular hose clamps and the high temp hose once you have two clean ends of the old tube and you will be set.

Thank you guys for all your help. I quit last night after buying some new studs...I ended up busting throug the AIR tube and Bracket with my dremel tool. not sure why I didn't think of that sooner than I did...now all thats left to do is remove the one stud that actually stayed in place. After that it should be smooth sailing and take only a few minutes (crossing my fingers) to fit everything up and go for a test drive.

One last question.....whats the best way to make it so the pipe goes on straight and isn't hitting the trans or skid plate? can I wedge something in there then tighten the bolts down then pull out the block or what ever I have in there?

Let us know if the exhaust helps in the power department. I have been told the catalytic converter is the big exhaust restriction and have been thinking about the bassani myself if it will actually give me some power.
