5.4 Engine/Trans and Electrical Removal

5.4 Engine/Trans and Electrical Removal
Hey guys I am embarking on a new project over the next year or two.
The goal (in my head) is to take the Engine and Trans from a 2006 Ford F150 Regular Cab FX4 (5.4L) and drop it in a 53 Ford F100. The other option would be to remove the body of the 06 F150 and replace it with the body of the 53. This includes the bed, panels, doors, etc.
My question... which would you do?
a. Pull the motor, trans, elect from the 06 and drop it in the 53's frame?
b. Do a body swap and utilize the newer suspension and brakes of the 06 for nicer ride?
Lastly, has anyone fully removed a 5.4L and all of the components necessary for it to operate in another vehicle? If so, please share some insight on what I might face, obstacles you may know of, etc.
